We live in a time unlike anything else! We have so many opportunities at our finger tips, yet we seem to complain a lot. I am usually a glass half full type of person, but sometimes people set me off I let their negativity impact me. I jump in the sinking boat and start to drown. I hate being this way.
Last night we had book club. Our group read The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. The book was amazing and inspirational. It reminded me that women have not always had things so good. It reminded me that even in today's society, in some cultures women still don't have it so good, and it reminded me of how very lucky I am!
Then today I was reminded again of how lucky I am. I received an email from a dear friend who has taught me many things! After emailing back and forth, I just picked up the phone and called her. We picked right up where we left off and I learned, I really need that friend! She brings out the best in me :) Prior to the call I had received and email that really annoyed me. I jumped in the dark boat and was mad. After getting off the phone, that friend reminded me that all situations bring grand opportunity. So I choose the high road and have decided to embrace the opportunity and the good. I am comforted knowing that instead of reacting, I am being proactive. I was stuck and now I have the resources to put the past behind me and move forward.
Below is a great video that I try to remember when I am about to jump in the boat and complain. Everything is Amazing and Nobody is Happy. Well, it is an amazing day and I am choosing to be happy! Thanks to my friend for helping me always embrace the good! I cherish you!
